How Creative People Can Stand Out In Crowded Marketplaces
The answer isn’t as simple as “keep going”
Last week, a new friend asked an important question:
Ashirwad is not asking about how to stand out as an accountant or a salesman. He doesn’t want information on how to lead a Fortune 500-level company to greatness. He isn’t a quarterback trying to increase his fantasy football visibility.
He’s asking how to stand out as a creative person.
The “flashy words” and “eye-popping visuals” mentioned are a potential way of standing out, but I actually think they are much less important than it seems.
Before getting into what IS important, though, let’s want to address the gorilla in the room:
The creative space is very,
very,
VERY
competitive.
We pretend it’s not. We pretend we are all holding hands and singing Kumbaya. That would be true if we were all doing this as a hobby. Some of us aren’t. Some of us need to get that client or we don’t pay the rent.
