Just so you know, whenever someone refers to me and Seth Godin as “you guys,” my confidence shoots through the roof ;)

I wrote one response to this article which said something along the lines of “American ed isn’t useless, it’s just overpriced."

(Actually, I looked it up and I didn’t. Was confusing that with this one.)

Your thoughts as a mother particularly speak to me. Many times, people encourage their children toward college because it’s a badge of honor… for the parents. Parents who cheer their kids into $100,000 worth of debt and not much to show for it REALLY rub me the wrong way. Not only did they fail to save for their child’s future, but they also failed to realize the rapidly declining value of higher education. From where I’m sitting, that’s irresponsible.

It sounds like your son has an excellent chance to succeed — not just because of your savings, but because you will pass on the your awareness. If he’s expecting college to provide him information only and not a future, he’s got a shot.

Thanks so much for giving me the chance to rant a little more :)

Cheers, and keep in touch.
