Moving is so critical.
One day I might round up the science to support it, but for now all I have is anecdotal — whenever I take regular breaks, regular walks, and work out at some point during the day, I do more. Period.
One thing I love to try is a concept called “workplace popcorn.” Have you heard of that? Essentially, you batch your tasks together in groups, and then move to a different spot to complete each group!
I try this whenever I’m feeling particularly restless — I’ll design at my desk with big monitors, answer emails while I’m walking around, and then record or write in a small conference room at the office.
