Growing up I hated feeling like I needed to be someone else to get that feeling of belonging, to be one of the crowd.

I certainly don’t have any high school angst — quite the opposite actually, but I do want people to know it’s fine to not have your people at an early age. In fact, it’d be shocking if you somehow found your best friends in the world… and they just happened to live in the same county as you, go to the same school, etc.

We don’t have to be “normal.”

Actually, I don’t think there is such thing as “normal.”
