This is a classic case of what’s urgent vs. important.

I’ve been here before. Heck, last week I battled with this — at my “real job,” and in my writing career.

Most writers like to pretend they have the answers. I don’t. I find them and write about them and lose them and then find a different one and write about that.

Usually when I encounter several issues blocking something big I want to do — things like a sudden wave of other responsibilities, increased desire to procrastinate, other people demanding my attention — I take these conflicts as a sign I’m on the right track.

~When you’re doing what’s important, you will always meet resistance. Always.~

I don’t know if you’ve read “The War of Art” by Steven Pressfield, but that book is a must read on this topic.

Writing what’s close to your heart can be difficult, but it’s usually also what the rest of the world needs to hear.

Keep the faith. Keep your focus. Keep stepping forward.
