This is a message I’m still refining:
As several have pointed out already, the ideal situation may not be a mind which is entirely business driven nor artistically driven, but a balance in between.
Most (probably all) well-known artists have some business motivation, but the actual conception of the idea does not come from trying to follow what someone else has done. Certainly the thought of making money can prompt one to make more art, but the real stuff, the good stuff, doesn’t come from financial motivation.
